Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate)

In 2022, I received my MEd in Counselling from Acadia University. Prior to becoming a counselling therapist, I worked as a high school science and art teacher for 15 years. I continue to work within the education system as a school counsellor.

I counsel with a person-centred integrative approach that is adjusted to meet the needs of an individual client. I combine techniques from a variety of sources including Solution-focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness, etc.

Through the therapeutic alliance, my role is to help clients recognize and develop their sense of personal power to make changes that align with their values and decrease the gap between expectations and reality. I have particular interest in working with adults and teens processing grief and loss andnavigating career and significant life transitions.
