Psychologist (Candidate Register)

I am a Psychologist (Candidate Register) in the province of Nova Scotia. In 2014, I received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Psychology from Cape Breton University. I completed a Master of Arts Degree in Applied (Clinical) Psychology at Laurentian University (Sudbury, Ontario; 2017) under the supervision of Dr. Adele LaFrance, co-developer of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy. After many years living in other parts of the country, I was thrilled to return to my home province to pursue my passion of supporting those struggling with mental health concerns. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults from an emotion-focused approach.

With specific emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic alliance, I work to provide a supportive and comfortable environment where my clients are encouraged to share their hardships and process their emotions in a safe space. I have training and experience in various treatment models, such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of child, adolescent, and adult eating disorders.

I have a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, such as adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. My goal is to work collaboratively with each of my clients to tailor treatment to meet their specific needs. My ultimate hope is that clients leave my office feeling seen, heard, and valued.
